Purchasing Associate
Hills Flat Lumber is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Purchasing Associate to join our Grass Valley, CA team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage procurement processes efficiently. This role is crucial in ensuring that our supply chain remains robust and that we maintain strong relationships with our vendors.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist in the procurement of materials, supplies, and equipment necessary for company operations.
· Evaluate and compare vendor quotations to ensure the best value for quality products and services.
· Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other essential data.
· Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers.
· Coordinate with internal departments to understand procurement needs and timelines.
· Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of stock.
· Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all procurement activities.
· Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make informed purchasing decisions.
Qualifications
· Experience in procurement and purchasing: 1 year each (Preferred)
· Strong organizational and time-management skills.
· Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
· Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
