What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Support Specialist position at Hillsboro Aero Academy?
The Student Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring that students at Hillsboro Aero Academy (HAA) receive industry-leading customer service from training through graduation. This high level of service will be achieved by processing student documents, assisting and motivating students to complete their training on schedule. Additional responsibilities include ensuring compliance with TSA and SEVIS regulations for all applicable students.
This is an onsite position.
Job duties include:
- Maintaining School records in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, HAA policies, accreditation and state licensure.
- Working with school operations staff, develop a process for monitoring student progress using the tools the company is providing, so that timely advising can be provided to students to ensure they complete their training on time.
- Proctoring FAA written tests.
- Manage communication with incoming students and assist with students arrivals as well as departures at the end of training.
- Participate in Student Monthly events.
- Assist with new student orientation and ensure all onboarding documents are collected and logged in the Student Management Systems.
- Advise students of Hillsboro Aero Academy policies and regulations to ensure a smooth student experience.
- Advise and assist international students of TSA and SEVIS rules and regulations from start of training through employment.
- Ensure all students and employees of HAA are in compliance with TSA rules and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications/Licenses:
- Valid driver's license with good driving record is preferred.
Required Skills/Experience:
- At least one year of working with domestic and international students
- Excellent customer service
- Applicant must be a US citizen or Legal Permanent Resident and 21 years of age (requirements to administer FAA tests)
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Experience with aviation (desirable)
- College degree, preferred
- Experience in office administrative role
- Associates degree
- Knowledge of SEVIS regulations
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Attention to detail, natural organizational skills and the ability to multi-task & work independently are a must
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required
