Description :
A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) assists patients with activities of daily living to all patients and assists in maintaining a safe and clean environment under the direction of and supervision of the RN / LPN in charge of the team or unit. Scheduled workdays and times could vary and will include weekends and holidays.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports and promotes an environment conducive with the Mission, Vision, and Values of the hospital.
- Provide care to surgical patients and patients here for therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
- Assist patient with changing into surgical attire .and any pre-op preps.
- Take and record vital signs as applicable in an accurate and concise method.
- Notifies the nurse of changes in patient’s condition in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Assist patients with nourishment, activity, elimination, and cleanliness in a manner conducive to the patient’s comfort and safety.
- Keep written notes of specific assignments and record pertinent information about the patients.
- Promptly answers call lights.
- Transports patients as needed though the facility (EXAMPLE : escort patient / family to Ambulatory room, assist with transporting patient to and from surgery)
- Maintains confidentiality of all patients, hospital, or physician related information
- Assists with daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of equipment, work, and storage areas.
- Keeps patient rooms neat and clean.
- Maintain orderly condition of assigned work area.
- Is knowledgeable of general hospital policies and procedures.
- Assist with clerical needs of department.
- Other duties many be assigned and are subject to change with or without prior notice.
