Description :
The Office Assistant performs clerical, receptionist, and communication duties as well as requisitioning supplies, equipment, and services from other departments. Scheduled workdays and times could vary and may include weekends and holidays.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports and promotes an environment conducive with the Mission, Vision, and Values of the hospital.
- Follows Standards of Behavior
- Maintain and verify accuracy of patient records through completion of the result fax check, ancillary reports, calling for additional diagnosis codes / orders, and scanning in orders and reports.
- Answering phones and faxing information
- Schedule appointments for patients and providers relaying instructions for exams
- Keep the Imaging personnel informed about specific assignments and records pertinent related to information about the patients on appropriate forms or in the electronic medical record.
- Maintains confidentiality of all patients, hospital, or physician related information
- Keeps patient care areas neat and clean.
- Maintain orderly condition of assigned work area.
- Is knowledgeable of general hospital policies and procedures.
- Other duties may be assigned and are subject to change with or without prior notice.
- Imaging Personnel – informing imaging personnel of tasks that need to be completed such as x-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, bone density, mammogram, nuclear medicine, surgery, and procedures.
