What are the responsibilities and job description for the MRI Technician Lead position at Hillsboro Area Hospital Inc?
The MRI Lead is responsible to assist the Imaging Director in the overall planning, organizing, implementing, and controlling of all unit activities including, interdepartmental relationships, and the direction of department personnel as well as physician relations. Assists in overseeing the collection and processing of imaging procedures to obtain data for the diagnosis and treatment of disease, in accordance with established hospital and imaging policies. Will proactively participate in processes to guide patient care in the most efficient, productive, cost-effective manner possible. Is responsible for assisting in management of staff, meeting fiscal requirements, and compliance with JCAHO guidelines along with Federal and State regulations. Maintain the ability/licensure to provide various levels of procedural care to imaging/MRI patients. Performs other Imaging modalities as needed to stay current with procedural requirements. Scheduled workdays and times could vary and may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays with on-call time.

QUALITY

- Is knowledgeable of general hospital and department specific policies and procedures and assists with their review and updates.
- Assists in ensuring that the hospital Compliance Plan and all governmental rules and regulations are followed.
- Assists in the training of new personnel and directs the MRI specific training of current personnel.
- Develops, implements, and maintains the MRI QA program, assigning duties, as necessary.

- Performs MRI / Imaging exams as needed.

- Assists director in the daily supervision of the MRI department.
- Assume complete directorship when director is absent as assigned.
- Assists director with staff monthly meetings for MRI education.

- Assists in providing professional growth of staff through identification of needs, facilitation of educational efforts and evaluation.

- Utilizes critical thinking processes to resolve issues in accordance with hospital philosophy.
- Assists in development and guiding implementation of the department's and facilities' marketing plan.

Requirements:EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Registry in MRI and X-RAY.
- 4 years of MRI / Imaging experience.
- Ability to work under pressure with time constraints.
- Ability to lead a team of diverse individuals to accomplish goals.
- Good mental health and emotional maturity.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Maintain current MRI and X-RAY registrations.
- Maintain CPR certification.
- Additional certifications may apply.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Prolonged, extensive, or considerable sitting, standing, and walking.
- Required to climb, balance, stoop and kneel.
- Required to use arms, hands, and fingers for repetitive grasping, pulling, pushing, and feeling.
- Frequently lift and / or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 lbs. Any workload exceeding 50 lbs. will require assistance.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Works in a well-lighted, climate-controlled office/clinical setting.
- Eyestrain and other conditions from use of computer monitor may occur.
- May be exposed to communicable diseases, hypodermic/IV needles, unpleasant sights, odors, and materials.
- The noise in the work environment is quiet to moderate.
