A Resident Care Assistant is a part of the overall commitment by the staff to provide a high-quality resident-focused plan of care, including the care for the physical, social, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of each resident. He / she should be patient, personable and professional in responding to resident needs with a gentle touch and caring attitude centered on treating all with dignity and respect. This position is responsible for assisting with Activities of Daily Living and in maintaining a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Executive Director. Scheduled workdays and times vary and will include weekends and holidays.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supports the Mission, Vision, and Values of the hospital.
- Provide daily living assistance to our residents which includes but is not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, feeding, medication supervision.
- Communicate effectively with residents and family members regarding their specific plan of care.
- Notifies the Executive Director or designee of changes in resident’s condition in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of assigned areas, including resident apartments and common areas.
- Assist with dining room preparation, serving and feeding.
- Transport residents as needed through the facility.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patients, hospital, or physician related information
- Maintain orderly condition of assigned work area.
- Knowledgeable of general hospital policies and procedures
- May perform other duties as assigned.
