The Position
As an FAA Certified Part 145 Repair Station, Hillsboro Aviation provides comprehensive maintenance, avionics, and parts services for a wide array of aircraft. From privately owned airplanes and helicopters to fixed and rotor-wing fleet operators; our clientele encompasses private, commercial, and government sectors.
As a Parts Sales Representative, you will report to the Parts Sales Manager and will be responsible for domestic and international parts sales. The primary focus of this role is to generate new prospects and opportunities beyond our existing customer base through distributorship, stock sales, brokerage, and consignments of aircraft parts.
Ideal candidates are engaging, energetic, and driven. We are looking for someone who can work independently within their areas of responsibilities under limited supervision. The right candidate also values a strong work ethic and optimistic attitude while maintaining a critical eye for detail and organization.
The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. We require overtime during the week and on weekends when it is necessary to maintain our commitments. Greater than 20% travel is expected for this position in order to seek out new relationships and build the business.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and maintain customer base
- Purchase and sell aircraft components worldwide
- Analyze market trends to ensure proper inventory levels and pricing
- Manage consignments
- Manage rotable pool
- Evaluate and purchase inventories
- Perform verbal and electronic quotes for parts that meet margin requirements
- Sell parts from warehouse and broker parts through approved vendors
- Create purchase orders, sales orders, quotes and invoices
- Verify proper payment and customer account status
- Maintain a high standard of quality and customer service
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Licenses
- Must possess an unrestricted driver’s license
- 5 years of aviation parts sales experience
Required Skills/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
- Sales and Negotiation experience
- General and Business Aviation experience
- Understanding of export compliance regulations
- Excellent customer service
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Extensive knowledge of aircraft components and valuation
Preferred Skills/Experience
- A&P mechanic
- Experience parting out aircraft
- Management of rotable pool
