The Hillsboro Club is looking for an experienced Operations of Sales & Activities Director to support and oversee all aspects of the sales & activities departments. This position will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to achieve business objectives while overseeing the planning and execution of events, activities, and promotions. We are looking for someone with supervisory experience in hospitality, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the drive to contribute to the continued success of our luxury property.
The Club operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting and ending times, and hours worked in a week.
This is a full-time salaried position offering a competitive compensation annual salary, commensurate with experience, paid on a biweekly basis. In addition to competitive pay, our employees also have access to health insurance, and opportunities for advancement within the company.
General Requirements
Sales Management and Strategy Development:
- Create and implement strategies to maximize sales opportunities for the organization, including setting sales goals, identifying new revenue streams, and targeting key markets.
- Lead and manage the sales team, ensuring they are well-trained, motivated, and perform to meet the organization’s targets.
- Conduct market research to identify potential clients, industry trends, competitor activities, and new sales opportunities.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to encourage repeat business and long-term partnerships.
- Track and analyze sales performance, providing regular updates and reports to upper management. Adjust strategies as needed to meet sales targets.
Activity Planning & Coordination:
- Oversee a calendar of activities and events that align with business objectives, seasonal trends, and customer preferences (e.g., corporate events, conferences, team-building activities, client engagements).
- Ensure the smooth execution of activities and events, including budgeting, scheduling, staffing, and logistics.
- Work with other departments (e.g., marketing, operations, customer service) to ensure activities are well-promoted and delivered successfully.
- Enhance customer experience by ensuring that all activities are enjoyable, memorable, and exceed expectations.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional campaigns that drive awareness of upcoming activities.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Marketing or Business.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in the hospitality business, preferably in a club setting.
- Proven track record of successful sales leadership, strategy development, and team management.
- Strong experience in organizing and managing a range of activities, from small gatherings to large events.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation regulations.
- Flexibility to work evening and weekend shifts as needed.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
