What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Manager position at Hillsboro Industries?
This position will oversee all aspects of daily manufacturing operations, ensuring efficient production processes, quality control, and team leadership while maintaining a safe work environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Direct all activities related to operations and production in accordance with the business plan.

Directs the overall production plan for the operation, including managing the day-to-day operations that come with implementation.

Collaborates with the Director of Operations on the determination of materials, space, equipment, and personnel needs.

Manages Crew Chiefs, assigns work to staff, provides coaching and training, sets goals, and makes and approves people management decisions either alone or in collaboration with management and HR.

Oversee Production to ensure safety.

Evaluate employees and give suggestions for improvement.

Oversee work schedules to ensure coverage.

Approve inventory transactions ensuring accuracy and identifying discrepancies in a timely manner.

Coach and approve progressive discipline in collaboration with HR that aligns with the culture of the business.

Demonstrate and promote the company’s core values.

Manufacturing products according to schedule.

Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
High School diploma or GED required. College Degree in Related field preferred
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of manufacturing operations with at least 3 years in a supervisory role. Detailed knowledge of plant and manufacturing operations.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Prior metal fabrication or similar manufacturing environment preferred.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Communicate effectively and work with others in a team environment, along with interacting and collaborating with co-workers daily. Strong written and verbal communication and active listening skills are a must. Strong attention to detail. Excellent time management skills, organization, and ability to work under deadlines, strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and willingness to learn and participate in a changing environment.
