CERTIFIED POSITION - ECC Educational Diagnostician

- 2025-2026 Contract Dates: TBD by Executive Director of Special Services
- Minimum Contract Salary of $48,197 - 193 day contract - Full benefits package
- Start date: 2025-2026 school year
- Location: Early Childhood Center
- Psychological Examiner or School Psychologist Certification
- Master’s degree in Special Education or related discipline from an accredited College or University
- Missouri State Teaching Certificate – Special Education
- Valid Driver’s License required to drive between school buildings.

Essential Duties
- Conducts relevant assessments in special education related to referrals and reevaluations.
- Serves as a Local Educational Agency (LEA) representative for Hillsboro R-3 Schools by attending meetings and ensuring compliance with special education processes, standards and laws.
- Assists school staff with manifestation determination meetings, functional behavioral assessments and behavior improvement plans.
- Acts as a liaison between special education staff and upper levels of administration.
- Strives to establish individual relationships with students.
- Reviews and assists in development of Individualized Education Program (I.E.P.).
- Assists with the review of existing data, paperwork, as well as assists with meetings for reevaluations.
- Reviews and processes paperwork for special education students
- Reviews documentation for transfer students.
- Works with the District Diagnostic Team to facilitate the special education process and mentors new members of the team.
- Advises and provides resource materials, consultations, instructional strategies and best practices.
- Conducts workshops and trainings for staff and paraprofessionals, as requested.
- Assists Executive Director of Special Services with design of letters, questionnaires, and flowcharts for the special education processes.
- Plans and conducts professional development training, as requested.
- Serves as a resource person for special education teachers, counselors, staff and parents in focusing and coordinating the school program for the individual child.
- Advises and is knowledgeable of special education compliance standards and laws.
- Establishes and maintains appropriate working relationships by actively communicating with parents.
- Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, mentor program and teacher training workshops.
- Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required.
- Attends and participates in special educations meetings to ensure compliance with SPED process/standards.
- Contributes to the decisions made by the district and building regarding budget, facilities, curriculum, and personnel well-being, by providing information/data to the Executive Director of Special Services.
- Performs additional tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director of Special Services.
- Attends Mapaville State School meetings and completes/submits all required paperwork for the state school referral process.
- Completes and submits requisitions for testing protocols, assessment kits, and supplies for the Diagnostic Team.

The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
