Position Summary:
Hillsborough Community College (HCC) is seeking a motivated and skilled Part-Time Advanced Technician to join the Career Resource Center team at the Ybor City campus. The Advanced Technician will play a crucial role in supporting a variety of CRC programs, including career resources, job search services, workshops, and employer recruitment events, while ensuring seamless operations of daily activities. This position is ideal for individuals with strong organizational skills, an interest in career development, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service to students, alumni, and community members.
Job Duties: Job duties include 5 areas of responsibility
1) Career Services Support:
- Provide direct support to students, alumni, and community members using the Career Resource Center’s services, including resume reviews, job search assistance, and internship opportunities.
- Assist students with navigating career development tools and platforms, such as job search websites, career exploration tools, and online application systems.
- Schedule and coordinate career services appointments and workshops, ensuring timely communication with students and participants.
2) Event Coordination & Employer Engagement:
- Assist in the planning and execution of career fairs, employer recruitment events, and employer information sessions.
- Communicate with employers and organizations to ensure participation in career events, workshops, and recruitment opportunities.
- Help set up and manage event spaces, including registration, technology setup, and student check-in for career fairs and employer engagement events.
3) Administrative & Office Support:
- Provide general administrative assistance, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and handling walk-in inquiries.
- Maintain accurate records of student interactions, career services usage, and employer engagements using the Career Center’s database.
- Assist with data entry and reporting to track program effectiveness and student outcomes.
4) Technology & Resource Management:
- Support the Career Resource Center’s online resources, including maintaining and updating the website and job posting systems.
- Troubleshoot basic technical issues related to career resource tools, computer access, and other digital platforms.
5) Student Engagement & Support:
- Engage with students to provide guidance on career readiness topics, including interview preparation, job search strategies, and professional development.
- Promote Career Resource Center programs and services to students through presentations and outreach activities.
- Assist with special projects as directed by the Career Resource Center Manager.
Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications:
Some college coursework in a related field (e.g., Business, Human Resources, Communication, or Education) and familiarity with social media, or job search platforms is preferred.
Bilingual in Spanish and 1-2 years of experience in a customer service, or administrative role is a plus.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, employers, faculty, and staff. The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and general office software. Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive student and employer information. Ability to troubleshoot basic technology and office equipment.

Customer service-oriented with a positive, proactive attitude. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities. Ability to maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with students, employers, and other stakeholders.
Work Schedule:
Part-time position working approximately 29 hours per week, with some flexibility. Some evening hours may be required, especially for events such as career fairs or employer recruitment activities.
