Job Overview
This position is responsible for assisting the Volunteer Senior Supervisor with performing day-to-day operational management duties for Pet Resource's Volunteer Department. This section provides routine programs and services in any of a large variety of PRC sections, with responsibility for planning, coordinating, supervising, and controlling assigned resources to achieve program objectives. The Program Coordinator will assist in training staff on proper interactions and encouragement for volunteers, coordinating outside volunteer groups, and assisting with public outreach events as needed.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience directly related to the duties listed below.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manages the day-to-day operations of the Volunteer Department, coordinates and administers assigned programs and resources.Allocates volunteers and resources to projects and program initiatives.Provides supervision, guidance, training, and motivation to assigned staff and volunteers; assigns, monitors and reviews work; evaluates performance and recommends corrective action as needed to program supervisor.Implements goals, policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness of Volunteer Department.Interviews, recruits, and onboards new volunteers.Coordinates with other branches / sections within own organization and external agencies / departments to ensure efficient flow of communications and services.Provides consultation to customers on matters relating to volunteer opportunities.Prepares a variety of documents for the purpose of documenting activities and administering assigned programs and resources.Attends public outreach event on behalf of the Pet Resource Center and recruits volunteer assistance. Represents PRC with dignity and professionalism.Has emergency first responder status and must be available to work onsite or offsite during any county emergency.May present pets on television or radio programs to promote overall adoption goals and answer questions about "topics of the month".Performs other related duties as required.Job Specifications

Minimum Qualifications Required
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university; ANDOne year of experience directly related to the positions duties listed above (two years or more preferred); ORAn equivalent combination of education (not less than possession of a high school diploma / GED), training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted above.Emergency Management Responsibilities
In the event of an emergency or disaster, an employee may be required to respond promptly to duties and responsibilities as assigned by the employee's department, the County's Office of Emergency Management, or County Administration. Such assignments may be for before, during or after the emergency / disaster.
