JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for design, installation, setup, configuration, upgrades, and advanced complex troubleshooting for enterprise Active Directory / EntraID, Hybrid Exchange email, and various Windows and Linux servers and applications.
STARTING SALARY : $36.38 hourly and $75,670 annually

Serves as technical lead for the Clerk's enterprise Windows Server environment including standard applications such as Active Directory, DNS, Microsoft Exchange email, email archiving, SharePoint, IIS, FTP, server patch management, and DevOps automation.Serves as technical lead for other production servers and appliances including Linux servers and hosted services.Analyzes needs for new servers and software; researches alternatives; works with application support staff and application vendors to identify requirements; configures new servers and installs applications in production environments; implements the server and application solution.Manages the production server environment including vendor specific applications and works with vendors and application support staff to resolve server and application problems.Analyzes data backup and retention requirements; works with customers, application support staff, and other systems administrators to implement and maintain daily and weekly backups; tests backup and restore capabilities; restores data as needed.Analyzes security requirements for systems and applications; works closely with Network and Security Administrators to implement specific security solutions such as antivirus, network access control lists, certificates, and firewall rules.Analyzes system performance using various tools; researches options to improve system performance where needed; implements improvements by tuning or upgrading servers, memory, CPU, operating system software, and storage.Proactively monitors systems, servers, and applications to identify potential problems; researches solutions using vendor support, technical documentation, and other sources; takes corrective action where needed.Researches new technology such as server hardware, system software, backup and replication software, security solutions, and disaster recovery solutions; obtains vendor quotes and proposals; submits recommendations and business justification to management for approval.Works with application support staff to plan and implement new software releases into production; participates in Change Control process by submitting Change Requests and reviewing and approving Change Requests submitted by Application Support staff.Works with Operations Staff to plan and install new server hardware and software, monitor servers and applications, document operational procedures, and respond as needed to operational alerts and events.Manages software and hardware support contracts and licenses to ensure proper vendor support and compliance with license agreements.Assists with budget process by identifying and scheduling system upgrades and replacements, planning new hardware and software purchases, and projecting ongoing maintenance costs.Plans and manages projects such as new hardware and software implementations and upgrades by developing detailed plans, schedules, task lists, and issues lists; conducts project team meetings; provides detailed written project status updates; ensures successful completion of all project work.Maintains server hardware and software inventory to include all relevant information.Performs regular software updates to ensure system security, reliability, and vendor support.Performs other duties as needed, including those performed by subordinate fiscal, financial, and / or clerical staff.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in information technology or related engineering field; and four (4) years of enterprise server infrastructure experience providing architecture design, establishing technology standards, developing hardware / software solutions, and managing complex enterprise technology projects in accordance with a formal project management methodology.
