Electronics Technician I (Temp / Part-Time) - Air Monitoring Section

19.12 - $26.59 Hourly

39,769.60 - $55,307.20 Yearly

Performs part-time duties involving the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diversified electronic equipment. Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and early morning hours. The position supports a contract with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and requires passing a background check. Must possess exceptional attention to detail due to strict requirements and standard operating procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from high school or possession of a GED Certificate; and

A valid Florida Driver's License; and

One year of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment.

Skill in the use of electronic testing, diagnostic and repair tools and equipment.

Ability to detect, analyze and repair malfunctions on electronic equipment.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

Note : The following duties are illustrative and not exhaustive. Depending on assigned area of responsibility, incumbents in the position may perform one or more of the activities described below.

Installs, maintains, calibrates, troubleshoots, and repairs diversified electronic equipment and associated subassemblies utilized in operations such as voice and data communications, air quality monitoring, water / wastewater plant and pumping station controlling, traffic signal control, television and video monitoring, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) navigation aids to ensure good physical condition and operation.

Collects data and readings of systems operations and records findings in compliance with regulations or maintenance schedules.

Maintains sites where electronic equipment is installed, and cleans and services equipment, subassemblies, and devices.

Assists higher level technicians in conducting complex repairs, tests and maintenance to electronic equipment.

Performs other related duties as required.

If an employee tests positive for THC or marijuana, the test will be considered a positive drug test even if an employee uses cannabidiol (CBD) products and / or has a medical marijuana card.
