Job Description
The Electrician Tradesman installs, tests, inspects, maintains, and repairs electric lights, power distribution circuit controls, and appliances throughout the buildings and grounds.
Responsibilities and Duties
Receives work orders and coordinates work to fit schedule as assigned by Supervisor.
Estimates time and materials required on work order.
Maintains facility nurse call system, paging, mechanical alarm and medical gas alarm systems.
Repairs electric motors, controllers and other auxiliary electrical devices.
Makes emergency repairs to medical equipment.
Install new wiring and electrical machinery; works from prints and diagrams to determine layout, location, and specifications of items to install.
Bend and install conduit.
Install concealed wiring.
Isolate and repair defective circuits as required.
Dismantle electrical machinery and break connections; replace defective parts; reassemble, and test for proper operation.
Check and repair lighting systems.
Maintain and repair central clock system.
Inventory stock, and requisition supplies to maintain adequate supply.
Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition following prescribed safety regulations.
Maintains CATV cabling system throughout the facility when noted and troubleshoot the system to determine where problems or damage may have occurred.
Assists the fire alarm testing company, as needed, to maintain facility fire alarm system.
Education
High School Diploma required
Trade School or Apprenticeship; knowledge of NEC Code changes and updates
Experience
Three years experience in commercial and industrial environment preferred
Certification & Licensure
Three to five years of experience as a licensed and/or practicing journey level tradesperson required
Qualifications
Ability to interpret blueprint drawings and sketches required
Ability to provide technical advice to tradespeople required
Ability to manage projects required
Excellent Communication (verbal And Written) And Collaboration Skills Required
