2:45pm - 11:15pm Monday through Friday, plus Saturday on a rotation

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- CNA certification
- Must possess a positive attitude toward patients and coworkers and be a team player
Responsibilities
- Provide prompt and efficient services. Patient lights are answered in a timely manner
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene and grooming, peri-care, and breast care
- Maintain accurate records within the chart: graphic, intake and output, 24-hour totals, and appropriate patient care documentation
- Collect patient specimens (i.e. urine, blood, stool, sputum) per protocol, label and sends to the laboratory in a timely fashion
- Effectively perform basic nursing care procedures for mother and baby: Vital signs, bedside glucose checks, daily weights, Foley insertion and removal, removal of IV lines, applying warm/cold compresses, blood glucose testing, diaper changes, feeding, newborn baths, etc
- Perform newborn testing; hearing screen, bilicheck, CCHD, newborn screen. Reports any abnormal findings to RN
- Perform car seat tests per policy when necessary
- Assist providers with procedures such as circumcisions, frenulectomy, etc. while maintaining sterile field
- Assist the RN with receiving and caring for surgical patients; setting them up with necessary supplies
- Assist RN with delivering and collecting meal trays
- Perform clerical duties related to admissions, discharges, transfers, deaths, consults, etc. Inputs computer data appropriately. Answers the telephone in a friendly manner, takes messages, and directs calls
- Assist with tracking, ordering, and stocking supplies on unit
- Assist with performing call-backs within one week of discharge. Report findings to charge nurse or clinical nurse manager.
- Assist with inputting patient charges into CPSI each shift
- Utilize teamwork to ensure that labor rooms, nursery, and warmers are stocked and ready for delivery
- Promptly and accurately recognize and report all concerns and abnormal findings. Demonstrate the ability and willingness to advocate for the patient
