Hillsdale Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team!
Compensation : $26-30 / hr AND $3000 sign-on bonus!
Location : 6359 SW Capitol Hwy Portland, OR 97239
Shift Details : This is a full-time position (30 hours / week), working 10 hour shifts, 4 days a week.
The ideal applicant brings strong medical ability, a passion for patient care, teamwork, and creative problem solving to our Hillsdale work family! You should have at least one year of general practice experience, but we are also very open to newly Certified Veterinary Technicians.

Job Summary : This position provides support to the medical staff in the operation of a small animal facility in accordance with hospital policy and procedures and provides medical care to patients as allowed in the veterinary practice act. The Veterinary Technician will be able to communicate effectively with employees and clients and have great attention to detail and organizational abilities.

- Maintain and uphold Core Values and Mission Statement of MVP.
- Provide guidance to the support staff to assure that the shift flows well.
- Mentor team members for career advancement and personal development towards goals.
- Provide input to the hospital manager for 360-degree employee performance evaluations.
- Provide patient care under the supervision and direction of a DVM.
- Maintain excellent client communication.
- Record all pertinent medical, client and case related information in the patient record accurately with appropriate grammar, terms, and accurate information.
- Review medical records, estimates or discharge instructions with clients.
- Answer clients inquiries about basic animal care questions and routine procedures; handle clients medical questions with confidence and direct to veterinarians when appropriate.
