We are currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Kennel Technician / Front Desk staff member. This position requires a love for dogs, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional care and attention to all dogs in our facility, including feeding, walking, and cleaning kennels
- Monitor the health and well-being of all dogs, reporting any concerns to the appropriate staff member
- Maintain a clean and organized kennel area, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all animals
- Greet and assist clients in a friendly and professional manner, answering any questions or concerns they may have
- Schedule appointments, manage client records, and handle financial transactions accurately and efficiently
- Assist with general office duties, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and filing paperwork
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations and provide support as needed
- Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Check-in and check-out guests, ensuring accuracy of information
- Answer phone calls, emails, and inquiries promptly and professionally
- Provide information about Hillside Canine facilities, services, and local attractions
- Handle guest requests, complaints, and concerns with empathy and efficiency
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk area
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and record keeping
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working with animals preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in using office software
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed

Experience:
- Previous experience in customer service or hospitality is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient in computer systems and software, including reservation systems
- Knowledge of pet grooming, dog training, animal restraint, animal handling, veterinary care, or pet care is a plus
- Ability to handle difficult situations with patience and professionalism
