PRIMARY PURPOSE: Assist with the psychiatric assessment, medical assessment, and ongoing psychiatric management of youth enrolled in Hillside’s PRTF/Residential and Partial Hospitalization Program. Duties will be performed under an approved Advanced Registered Nurse Protocol (ARPN).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete admission intake assessments on assigned patients.
- Provide psychiatric care (in consultation with the child’s attending physician) and corresponding documentation to youth on assigned treatment units. Client/unit assignments will be made by the Medical Director or designee.
- Provide admission physical examinations and corresponding documentation on assigned youth.
- Provide input for and/or participate in treatment planning meetings on assigned clients.
- Timely and accurate entry of notes and diagnoses to ensure billing accuracy.
- Participate in weekly rounds on assigned treatment units.
- Provide ‘after-hours’ call coverage for psychiatric emergencies as assigned by the Medical Director – typically 10-15 days/ per month.
- Provide psychiatric coverage (as assigned by the Medical Director) to patients enrolled in Hillside’s residential or PHP programs when their psychiatrist is not available/on-leave.
- Participate in Medical Rounds (typically monthly), Pharmacy and Therapeutic meeting (typically monthly), Psychiatry Staff meeting (typically monthly), and Emergency Safety Intervention Task Force meeting (typically monthly).

Qualifications
EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Nursing/Public Health and Doctor of Nursing Practice degree.
EXPERIENCE: PMHNP with 2 years of experience in a residential setting.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must have physical performed upon hire and then annually.
2. Some tasks may require exposure to blood, tissue or bodily fluids.
MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENT:
*Must not have a record of felony or misdemeanor convictions.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Guided by verbal and written instructions, policies and procedures and well-established guidelines; Medical Director.
WORK SCHEDULE: This is an executive position and work hours/days may vary as business dictates. May be subjected to being “paged”/ contacted during off duty time
