Summary:
The Dietary Manager is responsible for the safe, sanitary, and economical operation of the foodservice department. The DM will also hire, train and supervise the food service staff, and coordinate with various other institutional departments as needed.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Food Service:
Manage food production for long-term care facilities in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Oversee the production of high-quality tasty meals and snacks for a variety of therapeutic diets and textures.
Must be open to taking the CDM/CFPP Exam or have passed the CDM/CFPP test.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in long term care and/or hospital food production management

Duties include but are not limited to:
Food Service:
Manage food production for long-term care facilities in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Oversee the production of high-quality tasty meals and snacks for a variety of therapeutic diets and textures.
- Budget:
- Manage raw food, labor, and other ancillary budgets. Coordinate timely orders and deliveries of food, supplements, thickened products, cleaning products, kitchen and dining supplies, and equipment.
- Sanitation:
- Maintain the kitchen and all associated appliances and food service or dining equipment in a sanitary and organized manner to promote infection control, utilizing both day-to-day and deep cleaning schedules.
- Staffing:
- Interview, hire, educate, discipline, schedule, and evaluate the performance of staff in accordance with corporate and facility policies.
- Interact with Facility Staff and Residents:
- The Dietary Manager works closely with Registered Dietitian to update resident preferences and dietary modifications.
- Attends morning meetings to review new admissions and discharges.
- May attend care conferences
- Attends monthly resident council meetings to receive feedback from residents and promote resident satisfaction
- Meets with all newly admitted residents and other residents as needed
