Certified Nursing Assistant Job Description
The overall purpose of the Certified Nursing Assistant position is to provide each of the assigned residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the residents' plan of care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides high-level customer service
- Consistent and regular attendance and punctuality
- Provides personal care to residents safely and comfortably, adhering to facility policies and state/federal guidelines
- Respects resident preferences and choices in all areas of care
- Identifies and corrects safety hazards in patient care areas
- Complies with established policy, practices, and standards for nursing services
- Promotes independence for residents
- Documents observations as required
- Maintains a clean and safe environment
Work Environment:
Occasional exposure to blood or other body fluids, fumes, or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. Moderate noise level.
Requirements:
- State certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant
- CPR certification preferred
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- No disqualifying criminal offenses
