Kitchen Assistant Position

Job Description: Will operate the commercial dishwasher and assist the Cook with full range of kitchen duties including kitchen cleaning, food and dish delivery, and food prep as needed.

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: 9:00am-5:00 pm with one hour unpaid break

Benefits: Following orientation, full-time employees are entitled to one paid sick/personal day a month. After two months of employment, full-time employees will receive paid holidays and paid vacation hours. After three months of employment, employees are eligible for a $130.00 benefit amount, which can be used toward unreimbursed medical expenses, dependent care or retirement annuity. The benefit amount increases by $10.00 each year of continuous employment up to a maximum of $200.00 per month.

Qualifications: Institutional/ commercial kitchen experience preferred. Willing to train.

Supervisors: The kitchen manager is the immediate supervisor.

The food service coordinator is the supervisor for food service employees.

Required: If hired, The Kansas Department of Health and Environment requires a health assessment and a TB skin test within the first 30 days of employment, as well as submission to the KBI for a background check.

Three references should be submitted on the application.

Kitchen assistant must be able to carry out kitchen duties that include daily lifting (50 lbs or less), pushing carts with food and dishes to classrooms, and standing for extended periods of time.
