Job DescriptionHilltop Securities is currently looking to hire an Operations Manager, Settlements in Dallas, Texas. The Operations group is a collection of sub-departments which is responsible for everything after an account is opened or a trade occurs. The Operations group's responsibilities include opening customer accounts, account maintenance, receiving and delivering money and securities to customers, and many more. The Settlement department is responsible for the clearance and settlement of securities. This area receives and delivers physical securities as well as book-entry securities through the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation to and from broker / dealers and custodian banks. Settlement handles a wide variety of products for retail and institutional customers. Products include Corporate and Municipal Bonds, Common and Preferred Stock, Foreign Securities, and Government Issues. In addition to facilitating the settlement of securities from Broker to Broker, the settlement group also performs Prime Broker functions.ResponsibilitiesEssential FunctionsResponsible for direct supervision, development, and evaluation of department staff members.Responsible for development, maintenance, and monitoring of controls to ensure regulatory and service standards are not only met but exceeded.Supports performance of daily, weekly, and monthly department tasks.Assists with technical issues as needed.Responsible for communication and effective interaction with business analysts, programmers, and other outside sources to facilitate product development and process support.Must use proactive measures to produce desired results, including the development of new procedures, and improving procedures already in place.Monitoring and managing prime brokerage operations for the firm according to regulatory and industry standards.Domestic and International fail monitoring, billing, and fee tracking.QualificationsQualificationsExtensive knowledge of Brokerage Firm Operations specific focus in the settlement area.Knowledge of regulatory and customer requirements relative to Institutional and Inter-Broker Dealer settlement.Ability to formulate goals and project plans and direct execution of the action items.Ability to quickly interpret and resolve problems.Excellent customer service and communication skills.Education : Bachelor's degree; or 5 years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Licenses / Registrations / Certifications : Series 7 or Series 99About UsAt HilltopSecurities, we believe in building noble and collaborative relationships that enrich the financial future of individuals, businesses and communities.
