Hilltop Holdings is looking to hire a Regulatory Reporting Manager.
The Regulatory Reporting Manager is considered an experienced professional responsible for producing and submitting multiple regulatory filings in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, the organization’s policies and procedures, and accepted accounting principles. This position will prepare reports for bank and bank holding companies' regulatory agencies, focusing on quarterly Call and FRY-9C reports and other regulatory submissions. The position will have an elevated level of visibility within the organization with opportunities to work directly regularly with Management and will also interact very closely with other groups throughout Hilltop, including Risk, Legal, Treasury, Accounting, SEC Reporting, and Accounting Policy. Other responsibilities include various support tasks associated with earnings release, 10-Q/10-K disclosures, internal controls on Regulatory data integrity, data quality improvement projects, and evaluation and management of any future implementations associated with regulatory-specific reporting tools or systems.
Responsibilities
- Manage timely, complete, and accurate filing of daily, monthly, and quarterly, Regulatory Reports required by Federal Reserve for Hilltop Holdings entities, such as FR Y-9C and Call Report. Perform edit/validation checks and analytical reviews to verify that data inputs are complete and accurate.
- Work closely with Technology and Finance Optimization teams to implement and standardize strategic regulatory reporting initiatives. Analyze and interpret data from various sources, such as core systems databases and spreadsheets, and make recommendations for technical solutions, gains in efficiencies, and automation.
- Supervises the designs and performance of controls to assure the quality of regulatory reports, assesses impacts from issues, and designs new controls to improve efficiency and decrease operational risk.
- Ensures that the reporting records agree with the general ledger and subsidiary records. Regularly prepare or supervise the preparation of reporting records for all Regulatory filings and designated SEC filing disclosures. Research all discrepancies and resolve them to a satisfactory conclusion.
- Assists in developing and maintaining SEC and Regulatory reporting policies and procedures.
- Prepares, reviews, and/or assists in preparing special purpose and/or regulatory reports.
- Assess the impact of regulatory changes and perform gap analysis.
- Support the Director in implementing analytical and reporting processes, procedures, and systems using the established control framework.
- Work cooperatively with various groups to perform pre-submission analyses of reports.
- Supports the Director in responding to inquiries by the Federal Reserve, auditors, and other regulatory agencies.
- Develop an employee-oriented business unit culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, key employee retention and development, and overall high performance.
- Other functions as driven by the businesses' needs.
Qualifications
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Must be able to report to Republic Center @ 325 N. St. Paul Street, Dallas, without the need for relocation assistance.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively challenging accounting experience, including supervisory experience.
- Practical experience with financial services industry-specific regulatory reporting preferred.
- Solid understanding of banking products.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft suite of products, including Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.) and Word, as well as the ability to learn and utilize custom systems and applications.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills (ability to anticipate, challenge, interpret, decide, align, and learn).
- Strong analytical skills (ability to accurately assess existing conditions honestly and objectively).
- Must be self-motivated with strong attention to detail and high accountability.
