What are the responsibilities and job description for the Garden Center Retail Associate position at Hilltop Nursery & Garden Center?
Hilltop Nursery is one of the top Garden Centers in New York. We cater to homeowners and contractors alike. We are looking for 2 team members with the ability to communicate with customers, other co-workers and management. Gardening knowledge and a love of plants is a must! Willingness to learn about plant care, disease diagnosis, proper fertilization, and exposure. Duties will include tending to retail and landscape contractor customer needs and questions via telephone or in person, conduct cash register transactions on a POS system (Shopkeep), and sell indoor/outdoor plants, tools, fertilizers, and general garden equipment, and scheduling and taking orders via the telephone. General cleaning and organizing of nursery/retail space, caring for plants, and arranging attractive displays. Weekends a must. Employee discount for qualifying candidate. Canidate will need to work March through December.
Salary: Commensurate with experience.
