Director of Nursing - RN

Job Summary
The Director of Nursing (DON) plays a crucial leadership role in overseeing the nursing department within a healthcare facility, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and compliance with regulatory requirements. This position is responsible for developing and implementing care plans, managing nursing staff, and fostering a culture of excellence in patient care. The DON will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance resident rights and ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations.

Duties

• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for residents, ensuring they meet their medical and emotional needs.
• Oversee the daily operations of the nursing department, including staffing, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to nursing home operations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology and acute care practices to provide guidance to nursing staff.
• Advocate for resident rights and ensure that all staff members are trained on these principles.
• Lead nursing staff meetings to discuss policies, procedures, and best practices in patient care.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care for residents.
• Monitor quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of care within the facility.

Experience

• A valid Texas RN license with extensive experience in nurse management within a nursing home or similar healthcare setting.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, acute care practices, and HIPAA regulations.
• Experience in developing care plans that align with best practices in resident-centered care.
• Familiarity with systems used in healthcare settings to track patient information and outcomes.

Pay: $100,565.00 - $106,548.00 per year
