Hilltop Securities is currently looking to hire an Operations Analyst Trainee in Dallas, Texas. The Operations Analyst Trainee will begin their career learning from and working with Operation professionals in learning the financial services industry by developing operational knowledge of the back-office. In addition to learning the Operations side of the business, the Trainee will be sponsored to obtain their SIE and Series 7 licenses and be part of a rotational program to learn other areas of the business.

About The Team
The Operations department’s work is vital to the functionality and success of HilltopSecurities. The department provides back-office support and service for the entire firm. With well over 100 employees ranging from specialists to senior managers, each individual plays a specific role in the overarching operation of the company. Operations’ areas of focus include clearance, settlement, unit investment trusts, government and mortgage-backed securities, money market instruments, and OTC derivates. Our Operations professionals also manage transactions between mutual funds and insurance carriers and their respective investors. As a part of Operations, you are expected to provide high quality customer service, doing your best to make sure our clients succeed, and keeping their best interests as your highest priority. Responsibilities
- Under moderate supervision, performs complex functions according to department and industry guidelines.
- Responsible for non-routine activities/transactions by drawing on multiple information sources and understanding multiple effects of a transaction.
- Must successfully obtain SIE and Series 7 within 6 months of employment
- Review and analyze work to drive to prompt resolution.
- Escalates items of risk to supervisors.
- Cross functional understanding and coverage as needed of all Operations aspects.
- Follows tight timelines and adheres to required reporting, audit, and retention guidelines.
- Participates as a team member in the creation and onboarding of broker dealer operational processes.
- Assist with special projects assigned by manager.
- Undergraduate degree in accounting, business, finance
- Basic knowledge of and a keen interest in financial services
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and quantitative skills
- A great multi-tasker, possess a strong work ethic, and has a positive attitude
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals
- Ability to adapt to changing organizational priorities
- Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize workload to meet daily deadlines
