Job Summary
- The Alternative Programs Coordinator provides leadership and oversight to Hillview Academy, the district's virtual program, and home-hospital.
Qualification
- Requires a High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Kentucky Teaching Certificate
- Five (5) or more years of teaching experience
- Valid Kentucky Driver’s License
- Eligibility to work in the United States (I9)
- Clear Kentucky State Police, FBI, and Child Abuse Network background check
- Completed general health and TB assessment
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Majority of work is completed in a school setting
- Work is performed while standing, sitting, and/or walking
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing
- Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulation
- Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull weights up to 50 pounds

Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops and implements a comprehensive model for the delivery of alternative education services that includes measurable outcomes of success for at-risk students and develops annual program plans, goals, objectives, and methods of measuring program success.
- Develops, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates criteria, procedures, and guidelines for entry and exit to and from alternative education programs.
- Provides administrative and educational leadership in directing, developing, improving, and maintaining services for alternative education programs.
- Monitors program activities; prepares and presents a variety of reports, records, and data regarding student achievement, success rate, attendance, etc. Assists with data collection and data-based decision-making processes.
- Confers and assists school leadership in resolving a variety of challenges as needed.
- Assists in planning, developing, and implementing a program evaluation system.
- Supports schools in developing and implementing staff development as needed.
- Manages the program budgets and monitors the budget of all alternative education programs.
- Establishes and maintains clear communication and cooperative working relationships with partner agencies, other school districts, and regional and state organizations.
- Maintains professional competencies in areas of responsibility; maintains contact with and participates in professional job-related organizations; serves as a liaison to professional groups.
- Evaluates alternative education staff as needed.
- Identifies areas of improvement with alternative education within the district and works to improve these areas.
- Completes other duties as assigned.

Terms of Employment
- Salary commensurate with the adopted SCPS certified salary schedule
- Hours of Duty must be completed in accordance with Board Policy 03.2332
- Sick leave, emergency leave, personal leave, and non-contract days must be used in accordance with Board Policy 03.223 and provisions of KRS 161.155
- Nonrenewal of a contract must be in accordance with Board Policy 03.2711
Evaluation
- Your supervisor will lead all performance evaluation meetings
- Your performance may be evaluated at any time during your contract
- All classified employees must receive an annual evaluation
- Performance evaluation will be conducted in accordance with Board Policy 03.28
Salary : $60,111 - $102,203
