Position Summary:
Hillwood is seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Business Intelligence and Business Intelligence and Data Analyst to join our Corporate Services Finance team in Dallas, Texas. This role will focus on enhancing data processes, automating reporting, and improving data integrity to drive efficiency and accuracy across the organization. The Analyst will collaborate with Accounting, IT, and Finance teams to enhance data flow, integrate reporting tools, and implement quality controls. The ideal candidate is a strategic problem-solver with a passion for data-driven solutions, automation, and process optimization.
Responsibilities:
Data Optimization and Quality Control:
- Utilize technology to implement robust controls and review mechanisms to develop and implement processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across system.
- Automate data visualization and reconciliation processes to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
- Optimize data flow by identifying inefficiencies and implementing automated solutions to improve reporting and decision-making based on business priorities.
- Gain expertise and become a subject matter expert in internal software and reporting tools, understanding data structures, and governance tools for process improvement.
- Conduct regular data quality analysis and monitoring to identify issues, troubleshooting discrepancies and implement corrective measures to improve data integrity.
- Optimize data flow by identifying inefficiencies and adapting automated solutions to improve workforce reporting and educated decision-making.
Data Integration and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, Accounting, IT and Finance teams to source, integrate, and manage data into the warehouse and key systems.
- Act as a liaison between IT, Accounting, Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) to ensure seamless data accessibility and reporting.
- Maintain documentation for data processes, integrations, and governance standards to support internal controls and business continuity.
- Support data governance initiatives, including reconciliation, cleanup, and transformation projects to align with business objectives.
Reporting Automation and Support:
- Develop and automate Excel-based reports, leveraging data tools to improve reporting efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Partner with teams to enhance data-driven reporting and ensure consistency across business functions.
- Identify and implement streamlined reporting processes to improve accuracy and responsiveness.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for data accuracy and integrity.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze and resolve complex data issues ensuring data accuracy.
- Ability to identify inefficiencies and implement automated solutions to streamline workflows and reporting.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to execute complex initiatives and collaborate across teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Literate in database management, SQL, and data integration tools.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Familiarity with financial and operational data, ensuring reports align with business needs.
- Knowledge of data governance best practices, reconciliation processes, and data validation methodologies.
- Ability to analyze and resolve complex data issues ensuring data accuracy.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting, financial systems, integration, or analytics roles.
- Experience with ETL/ ELT processes, data transformation and enterprise data warehouse integrations required.
- Familiarity with financial or project management systems is a plus.
