Job Responsibilities
The Principal - VM Servers Administration will design, research, develop, implement, and maintain hardware and software related to the VM Servers and Backups Administration area. Provide technical leadership in support, patch installation, updates, and upgrades. Play a role in the creation, test, and maintenance of the disaster recovery plan. Coordinate the Servers team on the day-day operations and projects to facilitate collaboration and provide technical guidelines and best practices. Lead the design development and implementation of new Servers and Data Backup systems requirements deriving from business or Internal IT needs. Implement virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) to optimize server resource utilization. Migrate workloads to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and manage cloud-based servers. Develop and maintain appropriate procedural documentation and support materials (DRP, Processes, Diagrams, etc.). Communicate with individuals part of the systems user community and management in a simple convincing manner and on all levels with peers. Ensure the stability, reliability, uptime, high availability, performance, security, and integrity of systems environment. Coordinate the technical team to troubleshoot and resolve technical operational issues for business and technical staff. Act as a key member of the Infrastructure team to collaborate actively with the network and end users platforms functions. Collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture function for all topics related to servers and cloud strategy.
Flexible WFH – at least 2 days in office, WFH 3 days.
What You Will Need
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a closely-related field and 5 years of IT experience. OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field and 7 years of IT experience.
- 5 years of experience collaborating cross-functionally and communicating technical concepts with non-technical staff and with members of interdisciplinary teams.
- 5 years of experience with complex business processes, rules, and demonstrate business acumen, and acting as a subject matter expert.
- 5 years of experience with server-related technology (e.g., RAID, SAN & NAS (EMC, HPE and Dell Storage arrays), cluster, VMware (5.x, 6.x), DBMS, Data Backup and Recovery Systems, and network applications).
- 5 years of experience with troubleshooting and repairing IT hardware (HPE, Cisco, Dell and EMC).
Work Location – Hilmar, CA; Flexible WFH – at least 2 days in office, WFH 3 days.
Rate of pay – $134,149 to $201,223 per year
