A Typical Day
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for supporting the coordination and procurement of direct and or indirect materials and supplies in support of fulfilling HCC’s procurement requirements
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers as well as internal customer to ensure materials and services are delivered as requested on a timely and cost effective basis.
- Works with suppliers to ensure correct quantity delivery, order confirmations for timely deliveries and or service status where required, and adherence to pre-established material costs.
- Additionally responsible for performing daily tasks to support the Non-Dairy Procurement team in activities such as processing requisitions for restocking of direct and/or indirect inventory materials, processing purchase orders for direct and or indirect inventory materials, capital orders and reviewing for accuracy of requisitioned materials.
- Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Possess initiative, prioritization and multi-tasking skills to successfully manage multiple tasks in a deadline driven environment.
- Analyze cost, supplier performance, material lead times, etc.
What You Will Need
- High School diploma and 3 years of related experience OR Associates degree plus 2 years of related experience or Bachelor's degree.
- Purchasing or Logistics experience
- Proficient working with Microsoft Office Software such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
What Will Put You Ahead
- High School diploma and 4 years of related experience OR Associates degree plus 2 years of related experience
- Experience in SAP
- Advanced knowledge in business, finance or related field with demonstrated experience
