A Typical Day
The Sr. E & I Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for working with Maintenance Coordinators and Supervisors developing the E&I Mechanics into high-performance and knowledgeable staff. Be a part of long-term decision making and planning related to the electrical and instrumentation needs of HCC. Focus on implementing all projects requiring E&I support. Provide the crucial link between Engineering/Production and outside contractors on projects. Work closely with Engineering’s Electrical Systems Integrator, Project Managers, Maintenance Staff on all major issues hindering plant performance that require E&I support. Work closely with Operations Managers/Coordinators to assist, troubleshoot and provide solutions for any issues related to E&I.
Job Responsibilities
The role has periods of time when the work environment is sedentary and conducted in an office environment balanced with frequent occasions that require prolonged walking or standing, lifting/ carrying/handling moderate weight objects on a regular basis. Is required to wear PPE and have a regular presence in manufacturing and warehouse environments in both temperature controlled and uncontrolled locations. Job Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a safe and effective work environment for team and all employees.
- Develop and refine electrical systems’ projects in an organize, professional manner- coordinating all efforts with Engineering, Production, Project Coordinators and Maintenance Management, Plant Managers, Supervisors to ensure electrical projects are addressed in a timely manner.
- Use engineering solutions to solve repetitive electrical and/or instrumentation failures: seek out new ways, methods, hardware, etc.
- Work closely with, and provide support to, the Engineering Electrical Systems Integrator.
- Communicate daily with the Maintenance Manager on all E&I issues concerning HCC site.
- Be available to respond to Electrical issues as needed while troubleshooting and problem solving for equipment breakdowns. This is to include during normal work hours and “On Call” from home, as needed.
- Continue to promote and foster effective “partnering” relationships with all Operations personnel on an ongoing basis.
- Provide and promote “Excellence” in Customer Service.
- Complete annual OSHA required safety training.
- Maintain First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
- Must be member of A/ERT and attend trainings, and respond to emergency situations, and on call A/ERT for Kansas.
- Complete Emergency Response Training to include 24hr initial, 8hr refresher each year.
- Complete annual Company safety training program(s).
- Complete annual Food Safety overview training.
- Develop and mentor professional growth & advancement of hourly department staff.
- Active participation and ownership in your training and development program and associated activities, classes and events, which will be held before, during, after shifts and during scheduled days off.
- Help coach and train teammates and participate in on the job, buddy training.
- Place high priority on food safety and sanitation by understanding and executing HCC’s food safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Hold self and others accountable to HCC’s food safety & sanitation guidelines and policies by communicating any food safety incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates.
- Participate in food safety and sanitation root cause analysis and improvement activities when required.
- Prioritize safety above all other job duties by having a safety first approach at all times.
- Report any safety issues, observations, opportunities to your teams and follow up.
- Participate in departmental safety teams.

- English skills must be proficient to understand, read, write and speak English
- High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Software such as Word, Excel and Outlook
- 2 years of industrial manufacturing experience
- Ability to lift 60 lbs
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- 5 years of supervisory experience in Industrial maintenance
- Tactical knowledge of production operations management for quality, yield and cost.
- New equipment implementation through vendor facilitation and training.
