Operating room aide

Overview
The Operating Room Aide, Central Supply assistant plays a crucial role in the surgical team, ensuring that the operating room is prepared and maintained for surgical procedures and Supplies.

• Sterilizing instruments: Ensuring compliance with facility policies and procedures , as well as federal and state laws regarding cleaning and sterilizing instruments and equipment
• Transports /Cleaning rooms: transports, lifts, positions patients, provides cleaning of rooms between cases, restocks and maintains sufficient supplies for daily use. High
• Supply ordering: Collecting and filling supply requests, and ordering supplies from vendors
• Supply delivery: Delivering supplies to the appropriate unit or floor
• Supply receiving: Receiving supply shipments and routing packing slips to the correct department
• Inventory management: Maintaining accurate inventory records and tracking equipment throughout the facility
• Supply storage: Keeping the storage area organized and neat
• Supply sterilization: Sterilizing, cleaning, and processing medical supplies
• Supply documentation: Maintaining records for each PAR location
• Supply policy compliance: Ensuring compliance with facility policies and procedures, as well as federal and state laws

This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology, as well as the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess skills in time management, ordering, customer service, and aseptic techniques, contributing to optimal patient care during surgical operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the operating room before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• Assist surgeons and other medical staff during operations by providing necessary instruments and supplies.
• Ensure all surgical instruments are sterile and functioning properly.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to analyze patient needs for supplies to provide appropriate care.
• Participate in emergency procedures as needed, demonstrating knowledge of acute care protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the operating room, Sterile supply room, receiving supply area assuring adhering to health regulations.
• Sterilize and wrap medical equipment/instruments/supplies

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to surgical procedures.
• Organized and willing to learn the ordering system
• Proficiency in aseptic techniques to prevent infection during surgeries.
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with surgical teams.
• Ability to Anticipate what is needed

This position is essential for delivering high-quality surgical care, maintain and ordering of supplies and requires a dedicated professional committed to excellence in patient outcomes. Candidates with experience in the Sterile processing and sterile processing/wrapping is highly desirable.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
