Job Details
Caring of patients pre op, phase I and phase II recovery.
PACU nurses care for patients after surgery and must demonstrate advanced knowledge of anesthesiology.
Candidates for PACU jobs require critical care skills to assess incision sites, monitor body temperature, and track other indicators of stability or complications.
Ideal candidates for post-anesthesia care units have natural abilities to think critically.
Past experience in critical care and surgical nursing is a plus.
Job Requirements
2 years experience as a critical care RN (i.e., ER & ICU) in a hospital setting may be accepted substitute for PACU nurse experience.
Valid professional license within the state of practice.
Schedule Information
Shifts vary between 8, 10 and 12 hours and can be Days, Evenings, Nights and Weekends / Holidays and vary between units ASU and PACU.
No guarantee of hours or shift preference.
On Call shift 0-3 times per month (8-hour night and 24-hour weekends / holidays).
Unit Specific Information
Equipment utilized in the unit / dept. : Meditech, PCA Pumps, Pyxis, Braun IV Pumps, Cryocuff, SCD's, Bair PAWS Warmers, HP Monitors, Phillips Monitors.
