THE OPPORTUNITY

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced People Business Partner. As the first dedicated HR hire at MDCalc, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our policies, guiding our recruiting efforts to ensure we attract top talent, and fostering a thriving and inclusive company culture that aligns with our company goals. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Partner with hiring managers to define staffing needs and create compelling job descriptions.
- Develop innovative sourcing strategies to attract top talent and strengthen employer branding.
- Oversee and refine the recruitment and onboarding processes for a seamless candidate experience.
Employee Experience & Engagement
- Cultivate an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performance culture.
- Develop recognition programs, career development opportunities, and wellness initiatives.
- Implement engagement strategies that enhance workplace satisfaction and productivity.
Employee Relations & Performance Management
- Serve as a trusted advisor, addressing employee concerns and fostering a positive work environment.
- Guide managers in delivering feedback, conducting performance reviews, and driving career growth.
- Establish a performance management framework that aligns individual and company goals.
Compensation, Benefits & Total Rewards
- Support the design and administration of competitive compensation, benefits, and equity programs.
- Conduct market research to ensure MDCalc remains a top employer in its space.
Learning & Development
- Identify skill gaps and implement tailored learning opportunities for employees and leaders.
- Build professional development programs that support career progression and leadership growth.
HR Strategy, Policies & Compliance
- Develop and refine HR policies that align with legal requirements and company culture.
- Collaborate with leadership to implement a people strategy that supports growth and retention.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, including SOC2 & HIPAA.
HR Analytics & Insights
- Leverage HR data to drive decisions, identify trends, and improve processes.
- Maintain accurate HR records while ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.
YOUR BACKGROUND
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in People Ops, HR Business Partner, or similar roles
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Proven full cycle recruiting experience, from sourcing to offer negotiation
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills and excellent follow-through
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Strong problem-solving ability, adaptability, and resourcefulness in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
- Proficient in HR software, applicant tracking systems (ATS) and people analytics tools
- Preferred -
- Experience scaling HR functions in a startup environment, ideally from under 50 employees to 100
- Healthtech experience
