What are the responsibilities and job description for the GenAI Engineer position at HILOS?
Role
GenAI Engineers at HILOS are responsible for the development of digital product pipelines and the training and implementation of AI models within those pipelines across our backend. Especially in such a fast-evolving field, it is imperative that this role combine both product management and development roles in order to continuously frame and evolve our product pipeline architecture as well as our AI model capabilities.
Responsibilities
Tangibly, the GenAI Engineer is responsible for the following:
A qualified candidate will possess deep expertise in generative AI, specifically in developing and fine-tuning state-of-the-art models such as diffusion models and large language models (LLMs).
They should have a strong understanding of machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and experience in deploying and scaling AI solutions. Knowledge of multi-modal AI systems that integrate text, image, and 3D data is highly desirable.
Candidates should demonstrate a solid foundation in programming and software development, with proficiency in Python and familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure for AI deployment. While experience in 3D modeling or computational design is a plus, the primary emphasis is on generative AI development and its application to industrial workflows.
A specialized master’s degree or Ph.D. in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or a related field, and/or 5 years of hands-on experience in training and deploying generative AI models, is required.

Responsibilities
Tangibly, the GenAI Engineer is responsible for the following:
- Researching, framing, and developing digital product pipelines and workflows that draw from given inputs (text, image) to generate prescribed outputs (3D CAD) that fit HILOS standards for manufacturability.
- Setting accuracy requirements for AI models and training those models to hit and exceed targets.
- Developing and improving 3D asset generators using the latest computational and generative design platforms.
- Managing and developing the back-end architecture relating GenAI models to computational design workflows and CAD assets.
- Optimizing workflows for ease and cost of computing as well as accuracy and reliability of output.
