Job Title: Restaurant Server
Location: Hilton Garden Inn Kauai Wailua Bay
The Restaurant Server is responsible for delivering exceptional service to guests in a timely, attentive, and courteous manner. Key responsibilities include serving food and beverages, receiving and processing orders, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Familiarize yourself with the organization of the restaurant, lounges, and room service, including the function of each job position.
- Have a thorough knowledge of menus and current specials in applicable outlets.
- Service guests with all food and beverage requirements in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner.
- Pre-bus all tables, removing soiled dishes after each course.
- Be familiar with the operation of the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Perform cashiering functions, closing checks, and preparing end-of-shift paperwork.
- Perform opening and closing procedures, as well as side-work duties, according to station rotation assignment and established checklist.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, side stands, and surrounding areas.
- Keep all beverages at least ¾ full.
- Break down trays of soiled dishes and linen in the dishroom, adhering to established standards.
- Upsell food, beverage, and promotional items to guests whenever possible.
- Receive and deliver food and beverage orders, collecting payment as necessary.
- Prioritize overall guest satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent, or relevant experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
- Flexible scheduling and long hours may be required.
- Medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to stand throughout the entire shift.
- Must be able to maneuver throughout the dining area while carrying full trays of food and beverages.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of employees and guests.
- Ability to listen, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards.
- Adhere to high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
- Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Maximize productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in implementing solutions.
- Resolve problems efficiently, anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving issues as necessary.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
