JOB SUMMARY
The Guest Service Representative works under the direction of the Front Desk Supervisor, Assistant General Manager or the General Manager. His or her responsibilities include doing all activities listed in checklist, performing various marketing duties to generate additional revenue, providing optimum guest service & satisfaction, showing individual effectiveness, and following proper security & liability measures.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES
Checklist Activities
- reconciles the cash drawer before & after shift by counting bank & printing cashier shift report
- checks system to determine the rooms available for the day
- pre-blocks arrivals with special requests
- checks expected departures for today & clears checkouts or extends stays after check out time
- updates housekeeping room status when received from housekeeping
- at the end of the shift, balances departments from daily activity report
- does cashier shift change when cash is in balance
- does a courtesy call to every guest checking in (the call includes asking the guest if everything is satisfactory in the room – letting the guest know you are available to answer any questions / assist etc.)
- responds promptly and courteously to any guests inquiries or complaints (if reasonable) by either doing it himself/herself or delegating a co-employee
- offers alternate solution if guest demand cannot be met
- shows personal control in front of guests by maintaining positive attitude, staying calm & patient, avoiding use of negative language, and never displaying anger
- demonstrates a commitment to servicing the guest
- takes initiative to speak to a guest first
- acknowledges every guest with eye contact, nod, & greeting
JOB REQUIREMENTS * Knowledge of the hotel layout, amenities offered, and all procedures & organization.
- Knowledge of local geographic area knowledge, area businesses & services, major highway/street information, and community events & attractions.
- Ability to use effective and appropriate word choices, grammar, and tones when communicating.
- Ability to type at least 30 words per minute.
- High school diploma or equivalent
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
