Maintenance/Houseman position details:
Primary responsible for ensuring Life Safety and good working Condition of the Guest Rooms, All Guest Facing Common area and Storage Rooms and building exterior/interior.
- Ensure service quality, professionalism and a prompt and satisfactory resolution to all guest issues, inquiries and requests.
- Staff Training Tasks to include:
- Basic troubleshooting of door locks, PTAC units and general hotel equipment.
- Deliver consistent training methods to all staff equally using established training guidelines, standards and training checklists.
- Maintenance Tasks to include:
- Guest calls for condition issues in guest rooms
- Work requests from team members regarding the function and condition of hotel equipment (Vacuums, basic plumbing, painting, basic repairs) maintaining the quality of work at a professional level.
- Preventative Maintenance and management of warranty equipment
- Inspect all life safety systems (emergency lights, fire sprinklers, smoke detectors etc.)
- Assist the housekeeping department with houseman duties such as:
- Responsible for completing day-to-day tasks in addition to any unforeseen tasks as they arise based on priority
- Responsible for remaining highly visible to guests and staff and providing additional support to back-of house staff to include cleaning rooms, processing laundry, cleaning common areas and responding to emergencies.
- Ensure that all paperwork including daily reports, daily checklists, policies and procedures for the maintenance department are adhered to including:
- Daily Checklist
- Maintenance supplies inventory & ordering
- Key assignments and sign in/out sheets
- Packing slips, order forms and invoices provided to the General Manager
- Report any room and equipment damage promptly to the Manager-On-Duty
- Respond & resolve any guest complaints relating to condition, Escalate to Manager-On-Duty as needed.
- Participate in routine property meetings as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Understand the importance of Quality Assurance (QA) Inspections by the Brand and comply as per brand’s requirements.
·Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
·Must have excellent communication skills and be able to maintain confidentiality.
·Must be able to work overtime as needed and flexible hours as business needs require.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical knowledge and experience in facilities maintenance
- Proficiency in reading schematics and conducting maintenance tasks
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment efficiently
- Experience with programmable logic controllers and electrical systems
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or in a team
- Previous experience in a similar role or related field
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
