Hiring Rate: $15.00 - $16.00/hr

Hilton Pearl River, a full-service luxury hotel located 25 minutes from New York City in Rockland County (NY) and bordering Bergen County (NJ), is seeking an organized, energetic, hands-on professional to join our exceptional team as a part time Lifeguard.

Our Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of all guests/members while using the pools and other recreational areas.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:

• Maintains constant surveillance of guests in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency
• Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services
• Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service
• Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility
• Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned, which may include but is not limited to: cleaning the pool, pool area and all other areas of recreational facilities; removal of objects from the water; testing water levels for proper chemical input
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
• Skill in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques
• Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork
• Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures
• Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions
• Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures

Education:

• Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge,

skills and abilities. High school diploma required.

• Current certification in CPR & 1st Aid; Current certification as Lifeguard by a recognized source of training

Experience:

• Prior work as a lifeguard
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
• Flexible - must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, nights and holidays
• Shifts vary - weekends: 6:45AM-12PM, Weekday: 11:20AM-4:30PM, 5PM-10PM. May be required work late private swims that may end at 12AM.
