Position Purpose:

Responsible for the timely set-up and break down of all meeting and banquet rooms. Responsible for the timely performance of continental breakfast, coffee breaks and hospitalities.

Essential Functions:

- Insures that all rooms are set according to Banquet Event Orders. Follows catering orders for all scheduled coffee breaks, room set-up and break downs. Insures that all rooms are unlocked and doors propped open prior to function start. Linen not wrinkled or upside down, touching the floor properly, glasses on tables clean, tables in use not crocked or broken. Refresh rooms during lunch, replenish water glasses, water pitchers, and straitening of chairs and place settings.

- Checks all rooms to insure room is set properly. Checks room temperature and lighting to insure proper working order. Also checks the banquet rooms for cleanliness such as whether they have been vacuumed, swept and overall general cleaning.

- Checks all functions on reader boards and removes them when the function is finished and locks all banquet areas before leaving for the day.

- Insures that storerooms, Clayton kitchen and back hallways are kept clean and keeps all public areas free of equipment. Must remove registration on tables after the meeting is over. During lunch cleans rooms and replenishes with water.

- Bring linen from laundry and store it in BQT set up storeroom neatly on daily basis. Takes ownership cleaning and taking care of the rooms that is assigned

Other:

· Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Hilton from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

· Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel, including holidays.

· Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Hilton rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities. Employees who violate Hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Supportive Functions:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.

Maintains good guest relations, including greeting the guest in a cheerful, positive manner.

Perform all assigned side work to include replenishing condiments and restocking banquet shelves with supplies.

Perform general cleaning tasks using hotel cleaning products, as assigned to adhere to health standards.

Abide by all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill and Ability:

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.

Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware.

Basic knowledge of the English language sufficient to understand inquiries from customers and communicate simple instructions. Read BEO’s.

Ability to comprehend and apply written product-labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processes within the hotel.

Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.

Ability to transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room on a continuous basis throughout the shift.

Ability to operate beverage equipment, e.g., coffee maker.

Qualification Standards:

Education:

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Grade school education preferred.

Experience:

No prior experience required. Prior hospitality experience preferred.

Licenses or certificates:

Able to gain any certification or license needed or required to perform job duties. Hepatitis A Shot required. CPR certification and first aid training preferred.

Grooming:

All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.50 per hour
