THE POSITION
Hilton Tax & Wealth Advisors, headquartered in Alpharetta, Georgia, has an immediate opening for a Tax Assistant. The Tax Assistant will play a pivotal role in the company's success by implementing tax compliance processes for high-net-worth business owners and individuals. You will assist in managing tax compliance, tax planning workflows, and reviewing personal and corporate tax returns. This position requires exceptional communication skills and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be energetic and may have experience in multiple tax engagements, plus help the team with tax issues. Must be tech-savvy and willing to invest time and energy into developing the best tax processes and providing great service to our clients. Monday to Thursday schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Review business and personal tax returns for small business and high-net-worth clients.
· Communicate with clients about tax concepts to help with general tax reduction.
· Organize and update the tax database.
· Record tax entries into different accounting and financial software.
· Work with senior partner on general tax organization for clients.
PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.
· At least 3 years of experience in the tax industry and preparation/compliance.
· Basic knowledge of the tax code for individuals and small businesses.
· A licensed Tax Preparer, EA or CPA a plus.
· Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures.
· Quickbooks and/or other accounting software experience.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey concepts clearly and concisely.
· Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
· Superior computer literacy and numerical skills·
· Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
· A self-starter with a proactive attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
· High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Manual dexterity to operate a computer.
- Correctable vision and hearing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Clear, easy-to-understand oral communication ability.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
