What are the responsibilities and job description for the Asbestos Litigation Associate position at Hinckley Allen?
Hinckley Allen is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its Product Liability & Toxic Tort team. The ideal candidate will have two (2) to five (5) years of experience in complex toxic tort, including asbestos, and/or products liability cases. This position would be responsible for managing a large volume of cases and representing asbestos defendants in Missouri and Illinois.
Responsibilities include:
- Taking and defending depositions on a regular basis;
- Research various issues and collaborate with senior attorneys in developing proactive defense strategies;
- Navigating claims through resolution by dismissal, settlement, motion practice, or trial;
- Draft discovery demands and responses, motions, case evaluation summaries, settlement agreements, pleadings, and legal memoranda; and
- Represent clients at courtroom appearances.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience taking a case file from inception through resolution, strong verbal and written communication skills, and good academic credentials. The candidate must be a self-starter and possess the ability to multi-task. Working with others in a team-oriented environment is essential. Admission to bar in both Missouri and Illinois is required.
