Job Summary:
Hinds Behavioral Health Services is actively seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide the full scope of psychiatric outpatient care, including, but not limited to, diagnosis, treatment, prescribing medications, treatment planning, and referral support to consumers in an integrated primary health care setting. The PMHNP position partners Hinds Behavioral Health Services with a local primary health clinic to provide both mental health and primary health services to adults (18 ) with a serious mental illness (SMI) living in Hinds County. Our PMHNP will provide leadership and support in championing the continued growth and development of Hinds Behavioral Health Services’ whole health approach. The PMHNP position will serve as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and Integrated Care Committee—reports to the Medical Director.
Qualifications: Must be licensed in the State of Mississippi as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Accepted or eligible to be accepted by all major insurances. Previous experience in a chemical dependency treatment or mental health setting preferred. Board certification is required. Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize consumers’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged and geriatric), limitations and planned procedures. Good communication skills are necessary. Must have valid Mississippi driver’s license and proof of auto insurance. This position has been determined to have low risk of occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
