GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

Qualifications Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Previous experience working with disadvantaged students
Education And/Or Experience
High School Diploma
Previous experience working with disadvantaged students is desirable.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, Include The Following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.
Tutor summer component Upward Bound participants as needed.
Assist summer component teachers with providing supplemental and intense interventions to Upward Bound participants.
Serve as residential assistants during the residential week of the summer component.
Supervise UB participants during the summer component.
Attend daily debriefing meetings with the residential group.
Communicate with participants to encourage the continuation of secondary and post-secondary studies.
