Hinds Hospice, one of the most well-known and well-respected nonprofit agencies in California’s Central Valley and a pioneer in the practice of hospice and palliative care, is seeking a part-time Facilities Coordinator to join our team.
The Facilities Coordinator reports to the Safety, Security, and Facilities Supervisor. This position assists in providing overall support and service for both staff and tenants. Facilities Coordinator duties are regularly performed on agency premises, but may also occur off-site, to include Thrift Stores, Hospice Home, Agency events.
- Respond to Facilities maintenance calls, including emergency calls.
- Schedule/perform preventative maintenance in conjunction with Safety and Security.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual systems testing as required at the Hospice Home.
- Set up rooms for meetings, support groups, and events.
- Work with outside vendors to secure services and materials, or to coordinate projects.
- Provide set-up and clean-up assistance as required for agency functions.
- Arrange for warranty service or repairs of equipment such as HVAC, home appliances, lighting fixtures, furniture, etc.
- Assist in move activities of staff, furniture, files, storage room contents, and other items as required.
- Perform light handy duties as required (minor plumbing, changing light ballasts and bulbs, adjusting HVAC system, graffiti removal, replace ceiling tiles, minor cabinet and wood work, minor painting and electrical).
- Assist in all aspects of Facilities project implementation as needed.
- Maintain patient and family confidentiality within regulatory parameters; respectful of patient belongings and environment of care.

Qualifications include but are not limited to:
- One (1) to two (2) years experience in commercial facility maintenance preferred.
- Must be computer proficient and has knowledge of Microsoft and Google programs.
- Ability to collect and objectively weigh data; use experience, intuition, and critical thinking to complement data; and design effective processes and workflows.
- Maintain work behavior that invites trust and reliance; role model positive attendance and punctuality standards; ensure work responsibilities are completed correctly and timely and are covered when absent; arrive at meetings and appointments prepared and on time.
- Professional, results oriented and innovative.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and inspire others.
- Possess reliable automobile which may be used in the course of work, and have a valid California drivers license with acceptable driving record and proof of auto insurance and current auto registration.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (i.e., Push, Pull, Lift/Carry 35 lbs.)
