Description
- Develop updatable parametric CATIA V5 2D Drawings & 3D models using TEMA specified design process.
- Develop B side surface for plastic parts; include manufacturing tool requirements to meet TEMA standards.
- Develop surface for sheet metal components; include manufacturing tool requirements to meet TEMA standards.
- Perform blend filleting and pass Level E certification.
- Prepare 2D drawings as required to define engineering intent.
- Check data for accuracy / integrity; make repairs to achieve TEMA requirements for tangency, gap, and content.
- Accurately complete a part / drawing requirement check sheet.
- Calculate blank shapes and material yield for body shell parts.
- Complete daily progress tracking sheets
- Prepare engineer / designer communication and open issue sheets; return completed data to TEMA Engineer with a clear status report for open issues
Requirments
- 3 years of Automotive Design Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Body Shell
- Interior Trim
- Seats
- Functional Parts
- Electrical / Wire Harness
- 3 years of Parametric CAD modeling experience.
- A minimum of 3000 hours of parametric modeling experience on CATIA V5.
- CATIA V5 experience should include the following workbenches: Part Design, Generative Shape Design, Assembly Design, Drafting.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English
Summary
As a Designer in the Automotive sector, you will be instrumental in creating innovative mechanical designs and system schematics that drive vehicle performance and safety. Reporting to the Lead Engineer, you will utilize core skills in Catia and mechanical engineering to develop detailed drafts and designs. Your proficiency in premium tools like CATIA V5 will enhance your contributions to complex projects. Additionally, your relevant experience in technical writing and assembly will support effective communication and collaboration within the team, ensuring the successful execution of automotive design initiatives.
