What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Tech 1 position at Hines Building Maintenance (HBM)?
HBM is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team . This person should be able to problem solve daily maintenance tasks and work with the Lead Maintenance staff member to complete all work orders.
Reporting to the Director of Facilities and overseen by the Lead Maintenance Tech, the Maintenance Tech 1 is an entry level worker class in the series. The Maintenance Tech 1 performs routine maintenance work. the preferred candidate should have some experience in one of the following areas carpentry, plumbing, landscape, general building maintenance, or construction. This person will be expected to develop their skills in facilities maintenance by learning from the lead team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance of facilities.
- Some duties may include repairing flooring, drywall, appliances, troubleshoot and repair plumbing, light electrical, safety and security systems (lighting, locks, smoke/CO2 alarms, etc.), and HVAC filter changes, painting (interior and exterior), and cleaning.
- Conduct all job duties in accordance with company safety protocols.
- Work collaboratively with building administrators and staff to ensure a clean and safe environment for all students and staff.

Qualifications (knowledge, skills, abilities):
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance, handyman work or similar duties.
- Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
- Valid Driver License
Preferred education and experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Requirements: Ability to lift, pull, push 50 pounds. Stand, bend, stoop, and/or walk for long periods of time.
Other Requirements:
Must be able to pass federal background check (Livescan) and complete immunization requirements including TB testing.

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
