What are the responsibilities and job description for the Day Porter position at Hines Building Maintenance?
Under the direction of the Director of Facilities the Day Porter assists the Maintenance team to keep the campus pristine clean, addresses any cleaning issues that must be taken care. This role also provides support to the safety team by securing the campus, monitoring the campus, assists with crossing guard duties, and also supports transporting students and staff to the train station using a company van.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clean and disinfect all contact points in assigned area.
- Cleaning and restocking restrooms
- Breaking down boxes received during the day.
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
- landscaping including trimming and blowing grass, shrubs, plants and trees.
- Remove waste and empty trash.
- Replenish cleaning and maintenance supplies.
- Indoor room set-up and outdoor event set-up/ tear down.
- Transport students and staff in company vehicle
- Assist with monitoring the campus and check-in visitors.

Qualifications (knowledge, skills, abilities):
- 1 years of janitorial, facilities, grounds, or related experience
- Ability to communicate in a clear, professional manner.
- Ability to adhere to company safety protocols.
- Ability to read, write, and speak in English
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, pull, push up to 50 pounds.
Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting and walking for long periods of time.
Other Requirements:
Must be able to pass a federal background check.
Must have a valid drivers license and clean driving record (no more than 2 infractions in the last 24 months.
Vaccination requirements including TB test
