Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Grounds and Maintenance technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have vast experience in grounds and landscape and also general building maintenance/handyman skills. This role is essential in maintaining the aesthetic and functional aspects of our grounds, ensuring they are safe, clean, and visually appealing.
Duties
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, and edging to keep grounds well-groomed.
- Dig and prepare soil for planting trees, shrubs, and gardens.
- Irrigate plants and lawns effectively to promote healthy growth.
- Build and maintain garden beds, pathways, and other landscape features.
- Conduct tree trimming and care to ensure the health and safety of trees on the property.
- Maintenence duties may include repairing flooring, drywall, appliances, troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, safety and security systems (lighting, locks, smoke/CO2 alarms, etc.), and HVAC systems; painting (interior and exterior); and cleaning.
- Inspect work of others for quality, completion, safety and compliance.
- General roof cleaning and maintenance
- Mold abatement, fire smoke and water damage clean up.
- Train other staff on general maintenance to improve their skills.
- Operate hand tools and machinery safely for various grounds maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance or related fields
- Strong mechanical knowledge to operate various tools and equipment effectively.
- Ability to dig, build, irrigate, trim trees, and care for landscapes as needed.
- Familiarity with hand tools used in landscaping and grounds maintenance.
- Experience working in a school setting or similar
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of work.
- Able to pass a federal background check (Livescan)
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is required
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, pull, push 50 pounds.Exposed to wet or humid conditions and inclement seasonal weather, summer heat, cold weather. Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting.
Other Requirements:
Must be able to pass federal background check.
Must be able to complete vaccination requirements (TB test)
Must have and maintain a valid drivers license

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
